PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
5-7 slices pineapple
Maraschino cherries
1 package yellow cake mix

Melt butter, brown sugar, and 2 T. of pineapple syrup.  Remove from heat. In 13x9 baking dish, arrange pineapples in bottom of dish, (4 down each side) putting a cherry into each pineapple hole. Pour the butter, brown sugar,
and the pineapple syrup mixture over the pineapples. (I like to sprinkle pecans bits and a little coconut also over the mixture also)...
Make batter as directed on cake package, pour in baking dish as your last ingredient.

Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
Let stand about 5minutes, invert on serving plate.
