I love the song "Consider
the Lilies, the words are beautiful and they go right along with the
Sermon on the Mount.
You can find that sermon in the book of Matthew, Chapters 5, 6, and 7.
As Jesus was
teaching his disciples that day,
Chapter 26: "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do
they reap,
nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are
ye not much better than they?
Chapter 27: Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his
stature?
Chapter 28: And why take ye thought for raiment? CONSIDER THE LILIES OF
THE FIELD,
HOW THEY GROW; THEY TOIL NOT, NEITHER DO THEY SPIN;
Chapter 29: AND YET
I SAY UNTO YOU: EVEN SOLOMON IN ALL HIS GLORY WAS NOT ARRAYED LIKE ONE
OF THESE.
As you read the last few verses of that chapter, Jesus teaches:
"We have a heavenly father that knows our needs,
and He tells us to "seek first the Kingdom of God, and His
righteousness;
and all the things we have need of shall be added unto us.
The words of this song are a true blessing and a good teaching of Jesus
Christ.
There is a
youtube movie below that I found while looking for the song to add to
this page. I do not know who is singing, but they did a grand job.
As you listen to it, just open your heart to the love of Jesus, and to
His teachings. We really do have a heavenly Father who does care
when our head is bowed low. I hope you enjoy the song and
the video as much as I have. ~MarieCs
